تأسست الشركة السعودية للاستثمار الزراعي والإنتاج الحيواني (سالك) كشركة مساهمة سعودية برأسمال ثلاثة مليارات ريـال سعودي، مملوكة لصندوق الاستثمارات العامة، وبدأت أعمالها في 2012م، وتعمل في مجال الاستثمار الزراعي والإنتاج الحيواني في جميع أنحاء العالم، حيث تركز على الدول ذات الميزات النسبية في المجال الزراعي وخصوصا تلك التي تتمتع بفائض كبير في المنتجات الزراعية.
SALIC (Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company) is actively pursuing investment opportunities across the agribusiness spectrum in countries that welcome foreign investment and have significant agribusiness resources and capabilities.
SALIC’s strategy focuses on investments to create greenfield agricultural projects as well as agribusiness partnerships with international and domestic agribusiness companies and investors. SALIC has identified nine priority commodities for investment: wheat, barley, corn, soybean, rice, sugar, edible oils, green fodder and red meat. SALIC’s investment destinations are countries that are surplus producers of one or more of these commodities. SALIC is fully committed to the principles of responsible investing and business conduct in the agribusiness sector.
